The Meeting of Two Minds

Before we can really be the help meet we are intended to be, there must be a meeting or joining of our minds with the mind of God. Without this meeting how are we going to know with certainty how to be "...a help meet..." for our husbands?

Think back, has there ever been a time in your life when you met God on a personal basis? Do you know beyond any shadow of doubt should your life end today where you would spend eternity? If not, will you allow me to tell you?

First, We all must acknowledge that we are all sinners and cannot bridge the gap between ourselves and The Holy God on our own. In the Bible, the book of Romans chapter 3 and verse 10 states, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." We are all sinners. We all miss the mark when it comes to meeting God. Again in the Book of Romans, chapter 3 and verse 23 says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;" All of us have sinned all of us deserve to pay for our sin. In Romans chapter 6 and verse 23a the Bible states, "For the wages of sin is death..."

But, wait! God loves us! Romans chapter 5 verse 8 states, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." The Gospel of John chapter 3 and verse 16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God has provided a way to bridge the gap. All we have to do is accept his plan. In the book of Romans in chapter 6 and the second half of verse 23 we read, "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." God is offering us a gift. The gift of eternal life and sins forgiven. What will we do with that gift?

Let's get personal now. Will you choose to accept this gift so freely offered to you? If you want to accept this gift, bow your head and talk to God praying something like this. Dear God, I realize that I am a sinner and I need your gift of eternal life to bridge the gap between you and myself. I am sorry for my sin and I ask you to forgive me. Please save me. In Jesus name. A-men. Did you do that? In Romans chapter 10 and verse 13 the Bible says. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." You are now God's child. The meeting of your two minds has begun.
