The Greatest Valentine
By Angela Pickinpaugh Kuiper
On Valentine's Day every year,
We send our love far and near.
In hearts of White and Pink and Red,
We say the words not often said.
With cards romantic, sweet or funny
We show our love and spend our money.
With heart shaped boxes full of sweets
We share our love with those we meet.
But one often forgotten on Valentine's Day,
Is the One Who gave the greatest Valentine away.
It was not with hearts, or cards, or candy,
But the Perfect Son of God who died on Calvary.
The love of God has made a way,
For me to go to heaven someday.
And so my friend this Valentine's Day
Do not forget the Greatest Valentine ever given
away.
